Jeff is a lifelong pilot, and by his own admission, a "Total Airplane Junkie" with 34,000 hours of Flight Time. He began flying at age 14, solo'd at 16, Private at 17 and Commercial at 18. Jeff began teaching flying shortly after his 18th birthday and has been involved in teaching flying for the last 44 years. His favorite day is one where he gets to fly... anything. He teaches primarily tailwheel, instrument and multiengine. He also teaches mountain flying and mountain search flying.
Jeff holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, and recently retired from American Airlines as captain on the Boeing 777-300. He also hold a Commercial certificate for Single Engine Land and Gliders. Jeff is a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) with approval for; PE-ASEL, PE-AMEL, CIRE-ASEL, CIRE-AMEL, MCE, FPE, GIE and FIRE,
Jeff owns a 1976 V35B Beechcraft Bonanza and a 1950 Cessna 170A taildragger. He can regularly be spotted in aircraft ranging from J3 Cubs, Huskys and 172s to Tecnam P2006T, Beechcraft Barons and Dukes.
